The 'Home' Project

As regulars will know, since the arrival in our lives of Covid-19, the writing group has been meeting online every other Tuesday, 6.00 to 7.30pm. If you'd like to find out more or join us, just use the contact form on this blog.

Undeterred, we are aiming to put together an audiobook featuring our writers' work. The theme is 'Home', which is, after all, a place where many of us are now spending a lot of time.

Our members are invited to interpret the theme in any way they like, using any narrative format: flash fiction, short story, poetry, drama, memoir.

Maybe home is where the heart is. Maybe, as Dolly Parton  once sang, it's where the hurt is. Could be a place your characters dream of getting back to. Could be a place they dream of leaving. You get the picture.

Pieces can be between 200 and 2,000 words long. Members of the group will be sharing their work with each other for feedback, and once those pieces are polished to perfection, we'll each record ourselves reading them. Group facilitators Jon and Zoe will then put the final recoding together, and we plan to release it as an audiofile and CD in December.

So stay tuned.
